I am qualified to work with newborn babies and children up to the age of 5.

Newborn babies need hands-on settling and full parental assistance to fall asleep. Teaching self-settling is best suited for babies 16 weeks and older. Whilst I don’t offer sleep training for newborns, I can assist with hands-on settling techniques and help you set up an optimal sleep environment for restorative rest. For more details, please refer to the Nurturing Newborns package.

The concept of sleep training can provoke a lot of different feelings and opinions. Sleep training helps your baby learn to fall asleep independently (self-settling) and to resettle throughout the night if they wake.
At Blissful Bedtimes, we focus on establishing a consistent bedtime routine and guiding your baby to learn self-settling skills. We offer various methods tailored to your family’s needs. Our aim is to foster healthy sleep habits, making bedtime smoother and more restful for both you and your baby.
-
No, I don’t support the Cry It Out (CIO) method. When teaching your child to settle and re-settle independently, there are many sleep techniques available. My goal is to select the technique that best aligns with your parenting style and your child’s personality. I recommend using only responsive methods to ensure a supportive sleep process.
-
Yes, they may. While the idea of crying can be challenging for many parents, it’s important to understand that it's a natural way for babies to communicate their needs—whether they’re hungry, tired, uncomfortable, or just adjusting to a new routine. When we help a baby learn to fall asleep differently than before, some crying is often part of the process as they adapt and express their initial resistance.

Working with a sleep consultant offers many benefits, but the biggest advantage is having personalised 1:1 support—your own dedicated sleep consultant available whenever you need guidance.
Unlike sleep schools, Blissful Bedtimes provides In-Home and Phone Support Packages with continuous support. This means you can stay in the comfort of your home while we establish healthy sleep routines. Most of my packages include a tailored sleep plan for your baby or toddler, along with daily support over a two-week period. This ensures you are never alone as I help you implement the plan and navigate the sleep process.
-
Any change or new skill requires time and practice to master. The duration of this process can vary depending on your baby’s age, temperament, the settling method you choose, and the pace at which you proceed.
Typically, you might notice improvements within the first few days of sleep training. However, it can take up to two weeks to address nighttime sleep issues, and a little longer to resolve nap or early morning wake up concerns.
Will sleep training affect attachment with my baby?
Research shows that sleep training does not impact attachment. In fact, sleep training is shown to enhance your baby’s sleep, improve maternal mood and sleep, and has no long-term effects on stress levels, behaviour, or emotions. It is not associated with any negative impact on the parent-child bond.
